John F. Stone

Mr. John F. Stone, 78, of Fuquay-Varina passed away September 9, 2022 at Windsor Point in Fuquay-Varina. He was born in Buies Creek, the son of the late R.M. and Bessie Willis Stone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Stone; sisters, Jean, Mildred, and Rosalie.

John attended Buies Creek High School and graduated in 1962. He served in the Army National Guard and attended Campbell College. John enjoyed running, RV camping, and travelling out West. He also loved walks along the beach, playing golf, and watching NASCAR. John loved and cared for his dog Mahlee, and many other pets throughout the years. His work enabled him to live in many different states including, North and South Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Tennessee. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation as a sales manager after many years of service.  

John is survived by his daughter, Amanda Stone and son, John “Chris” Stone both of Loveland, CO; grandson, Brandan Stone of Loveland, CO; brother, R.M. Stone of Staunton, VA; sister, Joyce Harmon of Buies Creek; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel in Lillington.
