Mr. Jim T. Thomas, Jr., 48, of Lillington, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 4, 2021.
Jim was a native of Lillington. He was a master carpenter and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, coaching, and just being outside. He was also a diehard Carolina fan and was an exceptional athlete. He loved spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be held at Summerville Presbyterian Church, 2065 Old US Hwy 421, Lillington, NC 27546, on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 11:00 am with Rev. Bill Pauley presiding. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wiley Wood; grandparents, Paul and Kathleen Thomas; and his uncles, Howard “Buck” Thomas, Ronnie Thomas and Thurman Collins.
Jim is survived by his wife, Andrea Thomas; children, Jimmy T. Thomas “Tripp” III. and Madison Sexton, all of Lillington; father, Jimmy Tillman Thomas, Sr. of Lillington; mother, Phyllis Wood of Angier; sister, Valerie Thomas McLamb and fiancé, Allen Nash Paterson, Jr. (Puddin’) of Dunn; and his nieces, Alyssa McLamb and Ashlynn McLamb of Dunn; grandmother, Dorothy S. Wood of Fuquay-Varina; two uncles, Donald Wood (Joanne) of Fuquay-Varina and Lynn Thomas (Phyllis) of Lillington; aunts, Wanda Wegner of Angier, Brenda Brock (Ken) of Pittsboro and Marie Barnes of Angier; and his cousins, Dave Wood (Kelsey) of Fuquay-Varina, Alana Wallace (Zach) of Angier, Brian Brock (Whitney) of Siler City, Menessa Cooksey (Steve) of Mississippi, Shane Wegner (Tandi) of Angier, Larry Barnes, Jr. (Jackie) of Angier, Lynn Marie Barnes of Angier, Kevin Thomas of Lillington, Brent Thomas of Virginia, Angela Strickland, Paula Guman (Greg) and Phil Thomas, all of Carolina Beach, Kathy Thomas of Lillington.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am at Summerville Presbyterian Church.
Memorials may be made to the family, in care of Valerie McLamb. Any proceeds which exceed their needs will be donated to Samaritan Colony in Rockingham, NC.
