Jerry Dean Godfrey

Jerry Dean Godfrey, 82, of Broadway, passed away, Friday, October 10, 2025 at Liberty Commons Nursing Care Center in Sanford, NC. 

Jerry was born March 12, 1943 in Lee County to the late Harvey V. Godfrey, Sr. and Josephine Buchanan Godfrey.   He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Jean Womack Godfrey; brothers, Harvey Godfrey, Jr., Wayne Godfrey, and Dewey Godfrey

Jerry is survived by his sons, Kenneth Dean Godfrey, and Johnny Brian Godfrey; sister, Joyce Godfrey Phillips; granddaughter, Ashley Godfrey Boles and husband, Brian; and great grandchildren, Cierra, Alaina, and Brian Boles, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service will be held 11am Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Holly Springs Baptist Church, 385 Holly Springs Church Rd., Broadway, NC 27505 with Rev. Scott Yow and Rev. Jerry Parsons officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.    

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Hospice.
