Jeanne Myrna Hansen

Jeanne Hansen, 93, of Sanford, formerly of Rolling Meadows, IL, passed away, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Universal Healthcare in Lillington, NC. 

Jeanne was born August 13, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late Albert Alvin Schleif and Olga Anderson Schleif.  She married Frederick Hansen in 1948 and together they had four children.  They moved to Montague, Michigan in 1951 and lived there until moving to Rolling Meadows in1967.  Jeanne enjoyed the outdoors and she and Fred took their children on many camping trips and visits to Lake Michigan beaches.  Jeanne also took them on mushroom hunting hikes in the Michigan woods.  After retirement, Fred and Jeanne enjoyed wintering in Florida and cruising with friends.  Jeanne had an immense love of family and hosted many, many family gatherings over the years.  Her love was always felt in those dinners and in the offering of an “after dinner sandwich”.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frederick Hansen; and sister, Arlene Cleland. 

Jeanne will be missed by her son, Richard Hansen and his wife, Sue; daughters, Cynthia Hansen and her husband, Jim, Cheryl Boyer and her husband, David, and Christine Watson and her husband, Gary; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Jeremy, Justin, Eric, Cristina, Steven, and Michelle; six great grandchildren, Jordana, Jase, Jaxson, Luke, Amaya, and Ember; a brother-in-law Clinton Cleland; and two nieces, Laura and MaryLou.  

A private memorial service will be held at a later date in the Chicago area.
