Janitt Hiott West

Janitt Hiott West, 81, passed away at the Enclave in Clayton on Thursday, January 30, 2025. She was born April 16, 1943 in Bermuda during WWII to the late Mundy Hiott and Nita Morgan. In addition to her parents, Janitt was preceded in death by her husband, Tony West. She is survived by her children, Donna Cortez, Curtis West, Silvia Metzger (husband, Tom), Daniel West, and Helen Patrick (husband, James); grandchildren, Alan West, Elizabeth Lliguicota (husband, Jon), Adam Cortez, Kristin Patrick, and Luke Metzger; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Janitt grew up in Savannah, GA before moving to North Carolina. Janitt raised her children and enjoyed being a wife and mother and grandmother. She loved gardening and painting. She was an avid traveler who especially enjoyed the beach and tropical destinations.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 3, 2025 from 10am-11am at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main Street, Lillington, NC. A graveside service will follow at Harnett Memorial Park.
