Janet passed away after a long and valiant battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister. After graduating from Anderson Creek School, she obtained an Executive Secretarial diploma from the Worth College Business Career Institute, which lead to a successful career supporting attorneys in multiple locations.
As a dedicated legal secretary, after moving back to the Raleigh area in 1991, Janet worked diligently at a prominent Raleigh law firm until her retirement in December 2021.
Janet loved the Duke Blue Devils and would have been thrilled to know the outcome of the most recent game.
Coming from a large, close-knit family, she is preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Jane Porter and Ernest Warren West; her sister, Kathy West Wire; her brother-in-law, Donald Wire; her first husband Johnny L. (Dale) Hall; her second husband, Donald Carl Harris; and multiple first cousins.
She is survived by her sons Warren Hall (Brandy), and David Hall; her stepsons, Brian Harris (Rachel), and Jesse Harris (Katie); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her devoted sister, Karen West Garceau (Joe).
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Friday, February 14, 2025 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home with the service to follow in the chapel. A graveside service will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
