Janet Bell Campbell

Mrs. Janet Bell Campbell, 85 of Lillington passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Emerald Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lillington. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Hubert Berle and Beatrice Parker Bell. In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Campbell and sister, Linda Bell Newton. Janet and her husband, John, served as foster parents for many years. They also owned and operated Duncan Creek Plants. She continued operating the business after John’s death until her health declined. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing meals with family and friends. Janet loved the Lord and her church, Mt. Ariel United Methodist Church.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Lori Cross of Newton Grove; grandson, Hunter Grantham of Newton Grove; brother-in-law, Mike Newton of Lillington; niece, Kelli Morrison and husband Gary of Lillington; nephew, Bryan Newton of Lillington; great-nephew, Ross Newton; great-nieces, Lindsey Moss, Mackenzie Newton and Macy Morrison; great great-niece and a great great-nephew.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, June 17, 2023, at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow the service in Harnett Memorial Park.
