Jane (Hester) Hobbs

Jane H. Hobbs, 88, of Bunnlevel, NC passed away Sunday September 19, 2021, at REX Healthcare in Raleigh, NC.

She was born May 31, 1933, in Willow Springs, NC to the late Mary Glenn Elliott Hester and Ollie Flem Hester. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curtis Hobbs and her brother, Willie Lee Hester.

Jane pursued a career in financial services as an accountant. She began her career working at the Bank of Lillington, then Fidelity Bank in Fuquay-Varina, and finally at N.C. State University until her retirement. She enjoyed traveling and fellowship with friends and family. Jane was a faithful and devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church and previously attended Forest Hills Baptist Church in Raleigh.

She is survived by two nieces, Valerie Wilson and husband Tom and Lindsey Golnik and husband Nate; five nephews, Paul Hester and wife Jacona, Clint Hester and wife Karen, Rodney Hobbs and wife Gail, Baxter Hobbs and wife Shelly, and Marty Hobbs and wife Diane; and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held Monday September 27 at 2 PM at Friendship Baptist Church in Bunnlevel, NC with Pastor Phil Addison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the committal service.
