Jamie Gleaton

Jamie Michelle Gleaton, 53, of Fuquay Varina passed peacefully surrounded by family on December 10, 2025 at Wake Medical Center. She was born to James and Patricia Coan in Mecklenburg County, NC.

Jamie lived boldly and loved fiercely, touching every life around her with compassion and unwavering strength. She dedicated her life to serving others as a social worker, passionately advocating for the vulnerable and voiceless. Through her work with the Department of Social Services and the Department of Aging, Jamie spent more than 27 years in local government making a profound difference in countless lives.

Beyond her career, Jamie found her greatest joy in being a mother. She cherished family vacations, especially those that brought her close to the water, where she felt most at peace. At home, nothing made her happier than quiet moments cuddling with her beloved puppies.

Jamie also carried a sense of humor that could brighten even the heaviest of days. She had a gift for laughter—quick, witty, and contagious. With a perfectly timed joke or a playful comment, she could lift spirits, ease tension, and remind everyone around her that even in difficult moments, joy was still possible.

Jamie leaves behind a legacy of compassion, courage, humor, and love—a legacy that lives on in the countless hearts she touched. Those who knew her will carry her spirit forward, remembering her not just for what she did, but for the beautiful, extraordinary person she was.

Jamie is survived by her husband Jeff Gleaton, of the home; her sons, Shawn Gleaton of Myrtle Beach, SC and Braxton Gleaton of Asheville, NC; her daughter, Kendall Gleaton, of the home and her mother, Patricia Coan of Lillington; her sister, Tricia Eaton of Nevada and special friends. 

The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:15 PM, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington. A memorial service will follow at 7:30 PM in the funeral home chapel.
