James "Jimmy" Lemly Roberts, Jr.

UPDATE: The visitation for Mr. Roberts will be this evening from 5-7 pm, however the Roberts family will not be present during the visitation due to unforeseen circumstances.  The chapel service at 7 PM has been cancelled.  

Mr. James “Jimmy” Lemly Roberts, Jr., 76, of Lillington passed away Friday, February 03, 2023, at Wake Medical Center in Cary. He was born in Wayne County, the son of the late James Lemly Roberts, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Roberts. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jane Roberts. Jimmy was a hardworking, fun loving man that put his family above all else.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Brenda Dean and husband, Buck of Lillington; son, Ricky Roberts of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Barbi Corliss, and husband Terry of Lillington; son, Jamey Roberts and wife, Sherry of Lillington; 9 grandchildren and their spouses; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Susie Shelton and husband Jesse of Lillington; brothers, Dan Roberts and wife Daphine of Lillington, Wally Roberts and wife Debra of New Bern; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 5:00-6:45 PM. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. A private graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery.
