James Allen Hamilton, 51, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
Born on December 24, 1974, in Sanford, North Carolina, Allen was the son of Peggy Hamilton and the late Glenn Hamilton. He was born and raised in Harnett County and attended Western Harnett High School.
Allen had a passion for motorcycles and remote-controlled race cars. He cherished spending time with his beloved dog, Katie, and absolutely adored his momma. He dedicated 24 years of service to Edwards Brothers as a forklift operator and later worked for six years at Caterpillar.
Though naturally quiet and reserved, Allen was unwaveringly loyal to those fortunate enough to know him well. He loved his family and friends deeply and was always there when they needed him. Allen will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast loyalty, and the love he shared with those closest to him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Allen was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Hamilton; his maternal grandparents, Margaret and Charlie Smith; and his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Minnie Hamilton.
He is survived by his mother, Peggy Hamilton; his sister, Cheryl Hamilton; his uncle, Charles Smith; and many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Services will conclude with a burial at Flat Branch Covenant Presbyterian Church, 130 Darroch Rd, Bunnlevel, NC 28323.
