James Ashley Strickland Jr.

James "Ashley" Strickland, Jr., 57, of Lillington, NC passed into the arms of Jesus and entered his heavenly home on September 4,2021 at Central Harnett Hospital.

Ashley was a Christian who loved and served the Lord with all his heart soul and being. He was an amazing husband that loved and cherished his wife and loved serving the Lord with since they met at the age of 15. He loved being a father and PaPa and loved his family dearly. He was a hard worker and sole provider for his family so his wife could be a stay at home mother and raise their children. He served and supported his wife in establishing Crossing ALL Borders Ministry 501-C3. He was a faithful and loyal friend to many. He will be missed by many. His favorite verse was,

"As for me and my house we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15

A verse he truly lived by.

He was born February 20, 1964, in Wendell, NC to the late Linda Bradshaw and James Ashley Strickland, Sr. Ashley was preceded in death by two infant children.

James is survived by his best friend, ministry partner and beloved wife of 37 years, Joeth Pannkuk Strickland; his children, James Ashley Strickland III and wife, Rebekah Strickland, Amy Marissa Strickland and husband Diego Melendez, and Joshua Luke Strickland of the home; his grandchildren, Chloe Strickland and Elian Melendez; his brother, Jamie Strickland; his sisters, Angie Strickland and Rachel Barbour and husband Chris; his step father, Gerald Parrish; Aunt, Maude Hocutt; Uncle Fred Bradshaw and wife Peggy; 2 nieces, 10 nephews; 2 great nephews and many other family members. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday September 10, 2021, at O’Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main Street in Lillington.

A celebration of Life service will be held Saturday September 11, 2021, at 2PM at Cape Fear Conference Center 25 Beaver Rd. Erwin, NC 28339 with Pastor James Harrelson and Dr. E.B. Pannkuk, Jr. officiating. A private burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crossing All Borders Ministry at P.O. Box 132 Lillington, NC 27546.  Floral arrangements are also welcome for the Strickland service and can be ordered through The Flower Pot Florist or Beyond Petals Florist in Lillington. All floral orders should be delivered to O’Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home.
