James Edwin Baker, Jr., 73, of Spring Lake, NC passed away Wednesday December 15, 2021, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
He was born March 24, 1948, in Moore County, NC to the late Jacqueline Hawkins Baker and James Edwin Baker, Sr.
James attended North Carolina State University and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from UNC Pembroke. He pursued a career in the automotive industry working as a parts clerk at Bryan Honda in Fayetteville for 24 years. James was a devoted and faithful member of Layton Chapel Baptist Church in Spring Lake. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and playing golf with his son, J.T.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Agnes Campbell Baker of the home; his son, J.T. Baker of Nashville, TN; and his brother, Thomas Baker of Conway, SC.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-3PM on Sunday December 19 at Layton Chapel Baptist Church at 1230 Anderson Creek School Rd in Spring Lake, NC. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 3PM in the church sanctuary with Pastor John Chancey officiating.
