Hazel Smith

Hazel Smith, 94, of Lillington, passed away, Thursday, April 03, 2025, peacefully at her home.

Hazel was born August 16, 1930, in Harnett County to the late Malcom and Beulah Dickens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Junior Smith, son Sammy Smith, three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her son of the home Donnie Smith, brother Johnny Dickens, sisters, Faye Banton (Percy), Brenda Smith, special care giver niece Wendy Smith, and many nieces and nephews.

Hazel loved to cook her home-grown vegetables, and she loved her flowers. She was devoted to her Lord, and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Hazel especially loved working at the daycare taking care of the children.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 05, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at Baptist Chapel Church (2413 Buckhorn Rd., Sanford, NC 27330). A funeral service will follow in the Church Sanctuary at 4:00 PM with Pastor Alex Smith officiating.
