Hazel Weaver Clark, of Holly Springs, North Carolina, passed peacefully on April 4, 2026, at the age of 102. During her 37,564 days on this earth, Hazel brought joy and happiness to those around her. She was born and raised in rural North Carolina, principally in Harnett County. She graduated from Lillington High School in 1942, in the early years of World War II. In 1956, she married John Edward (Sam) Clark. Hazel joined the Flat Branch Presbyterian Church in 1958 and was an active member for 68 years, serving as a leader of the women's circle. She was awarded an Honorary Life Membership in the Church on her 100th birthday.
For many years she was a participant in the NC State Senior Games, winning awards in sports (bocce ball, croquet, and shuffleboard) as well as art and crafts. Her friends and relatives benefitted from her skills in baking, knitting, and crocheting.
Hazel is predeceased by her husband, Sam Clark (1995) and her brother, Marvin Weaver (2023). She is survived by her nephew Bryan Weaver of Holly Springs and his wife, Vickie, two great nephews, David Weaver of Wake Forest, NC, and Jon Weaver of Raleigh, NC, as well as a circle of dedicated friends.
The family will receive visitors on April 14, 2026, at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington, NC, at 11:00 am. Services will follow at 12 noon with interment at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington. Contributions to The Flat Branch Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
