Gale Dowd Worrell, 76, of Lillington, passed away, Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. 

Gale was born March 24, 1948 in Lee County, NC to the late James and Aggie Wallace Dowd. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Rickie Worrell; daughter, Paula Underhill; brothers, James Edward Dowd, Jr., and Oran Wesley “O.W.” Dowd; sister, Annie Mae Dowd Hall; and granddaughter, Stephanie Underhill.

Gale is survived by her son, Jason Rickie Worrell; and grandson, Jakob Ryan Worrell. 

A graveside service will be held 3pm Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Raven Rock Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pee Wee Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
