Gabriel (Gabe) T. MacManus departed the company of his family on Wednesday, August 7th, 2024. Gabe was amongst the most compassionate souls you could ever have the fortune of encountering. He would casually brush it off as the “right thing to do” after risking his life to save an armful of kittens from a burning house fire, or help an elderly woman cross the starting line of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Indianapolis 500, or deleting his selfie with Bigfoot after meeting him during one of his many Geocaching adventures. Gabe was born to a military family and spread his friendship circle far and wide over the course of his life, making friends all over the country. He had an affinity for gaming like his old man, but with his sharp skills and undeniably quick trigger finger, rapidly outclassed him at a remarkably young age, scoring his first COD kill at the tender age of 9 months. He was renowned for his uncanny abilities in Fortnite, scoring an in-game, over one mile shot on an airborne target. Always in the pursuit of knowledge, Gabe spent some of his free time learning German to better understand one of his favorite bands, Rammstein. He also dabbled in Legos, wood carving, raising his fish, and mastering the more nuanced aspects of the art of sarcasm. He was a stellar hit with the ladies. He took to wearing a pair of glasses to tone it down a bit once he realized the other fellas did not stand a chance.
Gabe is survived by his original spawn points, Raymond MacManus and Stephanie MacManus, Anna, Samson, Hannah, Annah, James, Issac, Nate, Laura, Lee, Charlotte, Vince, Leigh, Thea, Alder, Echo, Randy, Chris, Noriko, Ben, Ayana, Aimee, Trent, Robin, Jessi, Maddie, Addie, Max, Buddy… Yea, he left a lot of people behind. Courtney, Omar and Lisa beat him to the finish line.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday August 14, 2024 at 3:30 PM at Barbecue Presbyterian Church, 124 Barbecue Church Road, Sanford, NC 27332.
