Mr. Fredrick “Fred” Jack Jenkins, 84 of Lillington passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Emerald Health and Rehab surrounded by his family. He was born in Montgomery County on July 10, 1939, the son of the late Jack Jenkins and Christine Jenkins. In addition to his parents, Fredrick was preceded in death by his late wife Ruby C. Jenkins.
Fred showed his love for his wife, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, step grandchildren, and many other family and friends in his own quiet, humorous, and compassionate way. Fred was known early in life for his cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and his beloved horse Ashes. Fred loved spending time riding trails with his daughter Karen. He loved old cars and was a member of Little River Cruisers car club. He was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church, even when he was unable to attend in person, he faithfully watched online worship. Fred was an active member of the Bunnlevel community including a founding member of the Bunnlevel Fire Department.
Fred was survived by his wife of 24 years, Sandra Jenkins, children Kathy Jenkins, Tony Jenkins and wife Tina, and Karen Jenkins; stepchildren Wayne Graves and Jenny Little; grandchildren Brian Matthews (Ginny), Lauren Smith (Chris), Kaley Bowers (Mike), Larson Jenkins, and Averi Williams; step grandchildren Jamie Little, Cliff Little, Stacey Little, Josh Little, and Sara Graves; six great grandchildren, brother, Jimmy Jenkins, sister, Pat Fry and several loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 AM Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Harmony Baptist Church in Bunnlevel. A celebration of life will follow in the church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tommy Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.
