Flora Barnes Weeks

Flora Barnes Weeks, 97, of Lillington entered into Heaven on Saturday, September 17, 2022.

Flora was born in 1925 to the late Elmon and Flossie Barnes of Coats, NC. She is preceded in death by the father of her children, Ralph Weeks, her brothers Felton Barnes and Julius Barnes and half-brothers, Herschell Barnes and Phillip Barnes.

Flora enjoyed many years of farming and gardening, especially her beautiful flowers.  Flora loved life to the fullest, her life was filled with family and friends whom she loved and who loved her in return.  She proudly served in the Harnett County School Food services where she used her cooking talents to provide meals for the children of Harnett County. Flora was a member of Union Methodist Church for many years until transferring her membership to Flat Branch Presbyterian Church and she also served as an Officer of the Anderson Creek Senior Center.     

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Flat Branch Covenant Presbyterian Church Cemetery beginning at 4:00 PM with Rev. T.J. Byrd officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.

Flora is survived by her children Monnie (Charles) Smith of Lillington, Ralph Merill Weeks (Lavern Beck) of Sanford, Tommy Matt Weeks (Cherie Crosby) of Leland, and Jill (Taylor) Ramey of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Trudi Smith Wester, Travis Smith and Michael (Patricia) Weeks; two great grandchildren, Mia Weeks and Rylan Wester; brother Walter (Peggy) Barnes of South Carolina; half brother Harold Barnes of Fayetteville and many loving nieces and nephews.
