Mrs. Felecia Temple Brown, 82, of Lillington, NC left her earthly home to enter paradise on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was born on May 3, 1942, to the late Burnice F. and Mattie Lee Brown Temple. In addition to her parents, Felecia was preceded by death by her husband of 36 years, James David “Jimmy” Brown; sons, James Nathan “Bucky” Brown and Temple Scott Brown; and great grandson, William Christian “Trace” Blackmon.
Felecia graduated in 1960 from Benhaven High School. She attended Campbell College where she met and married the love of her life, James David “Jimmy” Brown. Jimmy and Felecia graduated in 1964.
Felecia taught school for 32 years in Harnett County. She retired and spent the remainder of her life traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Felecia was a member of Cedar Rock Presbyterian Church, where she was the pianist and Raven Rock Presbyterian Church for many years, where she sang in the choir.
Felecia is survived by her daughter, LeAnn Brown Blackmon and husband, Ricky of Lillington; 4 grandchildren, Jessica S. Blackmon, Sarah K. Brigman and husband, Harold, Taylor N. Brown and Mattie Grace “Gracie” Brown; 3 great-grandchildren, Juliana C. Blackmon, Kali A. Brigman and Kade S. Brigman; brother, Bobby M. Temple and wife, Linda C. Temple of Lillington; sister, Sue Temple Schultz of Surf City; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Neil and Cindy McPhail of Lillington.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Raven Rock Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
