Emily Rose Wester

Emily Rose Wester, 81, of Fuquay-Varina, NC, went to her heavenly home on Monday, June 10, 2024 at UNC Rex Healthcare, Raleigh, NC. 

Emily was born January 28, 1943 in Johnston County to the late Paul and Mamie Whitley.  She worked as an administrative assistant with the NC Department of Corrections retiring with over 20 years of service.  Emily was a faithful member of Baptist Grove Baptist Church.     

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Scott Wester; and sister, Pauline Poole.   

Emily is survived by her son, Gregory Scott Wester; nephews, Steve Poole and wife, Cindy, Linwood Poole and wife, Lois, and Bill Poole and his wife, Donna; brother-in-law, Larry Wester and wife, Brenda.    

A graveside service will be held 11:30am Friday, June 14, 2024 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526 with Rev. Ben Pearce officiating.  The family will receive friends 10am – 11am at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main St., Lillington, NC 27546. 

Memorials may be made to Baptist Grove Baptist Church, 6140 Christian Light Rd., Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
