Elizabeth "Libby" Carol Parker Matthews

Mrs. Elizabeth “Libby” Carol Parker Matthews, 67, of Fuquay-Varina passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at her home. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Harold “Billy” Parker and Jean Partin Parker. In addition to her parents, Libby was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob "Jake" Matthews, Jr.

Libby was a loving wife, mama, granny, sister, and friend. The simplest pleasures in life brought her the most joy. She loved witty banter, wildflowers, and genuine laughter. Her stubbornness could only be matched by her honesty and generosity. 

Libby is survived by her daughter Diana Matthews Hall (Mark); 2 grandchildren, Matthew Jacob Hall and Marlo Elizabeth Hall; 2 sisters, Deborah Pruitt (Daniel), Celia Jones (Michael); brother, Bobby Partin (Carolyn); nieces and nephews; beloved walking companion, Samantha.

A memorial service with a time of sharing will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 2, 2023 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel in Lillington. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00-2:00 PM.
