Elizabeth Carol Sanderson, age 67, passed away peacefully July 24th 2020 due to some age-related complications. She was born May 8th, 1953 in Battle Creek, MI. to Carol and Mason Mead. She married Mark R. Sanderson in May of 1989 in Rockville, MD. She earned her Associates Degree in 1994 at the Paducah Community College and was listed in Who’s Who in the South in 1995. She also worked as a government contractor processing student loans in Montgomery, AL. in 1996 – 98. Elizabeth loved to love on people. She crafted pillows and little quilted sayings. She loved to read with a special interest in the world’s various religions. Her most recent favorite pastime was doting on her granddaughter, Elyssa who is missing her very much.
For many years, Elizabeth worked in photography with companies in Battle Creek, Washington D.C., and Paducah, KY. It suited her creativity instincts. She said she did it to honor her father, Mason, who ran a photo studio in Battle Creek for many years. She attended church at the Lillington Baptist Church. She always believed, be kind and help others. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Elizabeth is survived by her mother, Carol Mead and brother Robert Mead, her three children Christian James Mahar, Lacy Elizabeth Mead, and Tiffany Carole Sanderson, a grandchild Elyssa Danielle Mead, and her husband Mark Sanderson. Surviving also is special friend, James Neault. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Please keep her in your thoughts as we celebrate her life Tuesday evening between 7:00 and 8:00 pm at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home, Lillington, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lillington Baptist Church, P.O. Box 670, Lillington, NC 27546.
