Mrs. Edna Dickens Flowers, 68 of Lillington passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at her home. She was born in Lee County, the daughter of the late Refes and Nolie Worrell Dickens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Wayne Hamilton; brother, Wray Gene Dickens and sister, Evelyn Stevens. Edna worked and retired from the N.C. Department of Corrections after 15 years of service. She loved going to Lake Gaston, fishing, and working in her flower beds. Edna also enjoyed painting and quilting. She spent her time caring for friends and family.
Edna is survived by her husband, Terry Flowers of the home; furry son, Champ of the home; stepson, Colby Flowers and wife Stephanie of Dunn; stepdaughter, Sara Roberts of Wilmington; six grandchildren, Michael Wayne Hamilton Jr., Samantha Ryan Hamilton, Mikaylee Flowers, Emma Flowers, Abbie Roberts, Carter Roberts; two step grandchildren, Brittany Marion and Chrystal Marion; brother, Jimmy Dickens and wife Sally of Lillington; sister, Rebecca Dickens Currin and husband Robert of Lillington; many nieces and nephews.
The family will be having a private service later.
