Dorothy “Dottie” Ellen Weishaar West, 80, of Clinton, NC passed away May 13, 2026. She was born May 10, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Leo Edward Weishaar and Dorothy Mae Deery Weishaar. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Neill Turner West, Sr. and Robert Autry; daughter, Michelle West Barbour; grandson, Neill Turner West lll, sister, Patricia “Patti” Ann Weishaar Shirley; brother, Robert “Bob” Charles Soulsby; and nephew, Jack Daniel “JD” Shirley.

Dottie is survived by her son, Neill Turner West Jr. (Cynthia); daughters, Terri West Holder (Keith), Cheri West, and Martie West; grandchildren, Candace Barbour, Stephanie West, Joseph West ,Chase Holder, Kendall Holder, Kaylee Holder, Amber Gillespie (Corbin), Kyle Strickland, Tyler Hunsaker(Victoria), Casey, Cantrell (Derrick), Chad Hunsaker (Eliza); great-grandchildren, Liam Garriss, Ellie James Hunsaker, Natalie Cantrell, Oaklynn Cantrell and Henry Hunsaker. Fiancé, Danny Dixon; brothers, Bucky Weishaar (Debbie) and Billy Weishaar (Alice); as well as many nieces and nephews including Sherrie Soulsby.

Dottie loved the beach and especially enjoyed eating Calabash seafood. She was an artist at heart and was known for her drawings and poetry, some of which was published. Her family reminisced about Dottie’s great storytelling skills, and she always had a funny story to share. She loved her family dearly. She will be greatly missed. 

 A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4pm-8pm on Friday, May 15, 2026 at the Atkins House, 111 West Ivey Street, Lillington, NC.  The family will receive visitors at other times at the Atkins House as well.
