Doris Womble

Mrs. Doris M. Womble, 95, of Alpharetta, GA, formerly of Lillington, passed away December 29, 2022 at home with her family in Georgia.  She was born in Prince George County, VA, to the late Jessie Martin Johnson and Maggie Norris Johnson.  Along with her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband of almost sixty years, James E. Womble.

Doris was always generous with her time, her energy, her advice, and in so many ways providing invaluable support to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her uncompromising integrity and honesty, have proven to be among the most important gifts she left to her children.

Doris is survived by her children; Brenda Rogers of Columbia, SC; Carolyn Thornton of Alpharetta, GA; Don Womble of Myrtle Beach, SC; Jimmy Womble of Rocky Mount NC, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who were her pride and joy. 

The family will receive friends Friday, January 6th at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM, funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM, burial will follow the service at Harnett Memorial Park.

Doris' family would like to thank everyone for all of  the well wishes, love and support they have received and were so valuable to Doris in her final weeks.
