Doris B. Green

Mrs. Doris B. Green of Lillington, NC went to be with her Lord, December 27, 2022, after several years of declining health.  She was a long time member of Pleasant Union Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School to young children of the church. 

She was affectionally known as “Mama Doris” to many of the kids of her neighborhood.  She thoroughly enjoyed this position.

She was a special mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother to a family that loved her dearly.

Doris was an employee of ASC in Lillington which is now called FSA,  a department of the USDA.  She had a career of forty years (1956-1996) with this agency.  Eighteen of these years she was County Executive Director.

She is survived by her husband Danny, daughter Diane and her husband Pat Shaw, son David and his wife Brigid, three grandchildren; Jennifer and her husband Andy Clark, Daniel and his wife Emily, and Matthew; five great grandchildren; Brayden Clark, Jackson Clark, Rylan Shaw and Ellie Shaw; one step grandchild Jayceon Manstrelli.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 30th from 10-11 AM at Pleasant Union Church, a graveside service will follow at 11 AM in the church cemetery with Dr. Greg Lawson officiating.  

We would like to especially thank Ms. Shelia Campbell for her devotion and kind care of Ms. Doris during her illness.
