Donald Ralph Turner

Donald Ralph Turner, 81, of Lillington, died Friday, June 23, 2023 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC, with his sister by his side. 

Donald was born February 9, 1942 in Greensboro, NC to the late Ralph J. Turner and Margaret Byrd Turner.  He was employed with Frontier Textiles, retiring with over 20 years of service.  Donald was an avid Duke Basketball and NASCAR racing fan.  He spent his evenings watching the television show Criminal Minds.  He loved going to the Lighthouse Grill in Mamers with his sister to visit with all their childhood friends.    

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Harrington Turner.

Donald is survived by his daughter, Donna Ratliff; step-daugther, Christine Smith; sister, Lynda Turner; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren. 

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Wayne O’Quinn officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service. 

Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
