David Lee Porter

David Lee Porter, Sr., 87, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025 in his hometown of Lillington, NC.  Lee was born on September 27, 1937 to the late Ernie Richard and Beulah Mae Lanier Porter.    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, 3 brothers, and daughter Darlene Evelyn Porter.

Lee is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Evelyn Porter; sons, David L. Porter (Darlenena) and Melvin Porter (Mark Sutton); grandchildren, Meghan Porter, Mickayla Weaver, Michael Porter, and Samuel Porter; great-grandchild, Gracen Lee Weaver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a loving husband and devoted father.  Lee was a veteran of the Air Force.  He was an excellent mechanic but gave it up for his love of jets in the airline industry.  He will be greatly missed, forever loved.

A memorial service will be held at his home church LifePoint Church of God, 500 W. Old Road, Lillington, NC on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 2:00PM.
