Daniel Wayne Mueller, age 74 of Harnett County NC, passed on to eternal life surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 21, 2024. He is survived by Margaret, his wife of 53 years, sons Brian (Kristen) of Silver Springs, MD, Michael (Stephanie) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Keith (Nichole) of Sandia Park, NM and grandchildren Jonah “Robin” and Ansley Mueller of Fuquay-Varina, NC. He is further survived by his stepmother Frances Mueller (Surprise, AZ), brother Richard Mueller (Christine) of Milwaukee, WI, sister Susan Stellings (Jeffrey) of Surprise, AZ, brother-in-law William Martin (Janice) of Norcatur, KS, sister-in-law Maria (Ken) Allaire of Baton Rouge, LA, “brother” Dennis Huber (Hartford, WI), nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding Daniel in death were his parents Gerhard and Beverly Mueller, sister Nancy Sexton, father and mother in-law Robert and Marion Martin, sister-in-law Lynn Kessler Miller and other relatives and friends.
Daniel spent his career as a grocery store manager in Milwaukee and Oshkosh, WI. Upon his retirement he assisted his cousin as a technician for The Bee Guy before moving to North Carolina to share in his grandchildren’s lives. Beside his devotion to his family, Dan was active in Indian Guides, scouts, PTO, coaching, and the Lourdes Academy Booster Club. Cheering for his sons and grandchildren at their sporting events and activities was his hobby. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington. A prayer service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment will be in the columbarium at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Fuquay-Varina.
