Daniel B. Andrews

Daniel B. Andrews (Dan) passed away peacefully with family by his side November 28, 2023. Born on April 5th, 1934 son of Daniel Boone Andrews and Annie Wells Andrews in Chalybeate Springs, Harnett County where he was a lifelong resident. Dan was a lifetime farmer and dedicated his life to being an advocate and voice for agriculture and rural communities. He had a heart of service for Harnett County, and dedicated twenty years of his life as a Harnett County Commissioner, during which time he received The Order of the Long Leaf Pine. He served as the Director on the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners. He was a member of Harnett County Economic Development. Dan was also a member of Mid-Carolina Council of Government and received the M. H. “Jack” Brock Memorial Award. In addition, he was Harnett County’s representative on the NC Capitol Area Metropolitan Organization. He also served Campbell University on the Board of Trustees and the Presidential Board of Advisors. During his service to Campbell he received the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award. Dan’s strength and love for family and friends were a blessing to all around him. He was a passionate outdoorsman and conservationist planting forests of pine trees for future generations. His love for God and family guided each of his days and is his lasting legacy. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce Prince Andrews, his sons William Daniel (Linda) Andrews, Anthony Boone Andrews, his granddaughters, Farra Andrews and Anna Andrews, sister Eunice Andrews Bland, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the family farm 3146 Chalybeate Springs Road, Fuquay Varina, NC. The family will receive friends 2pm - 3pm prior to the service at the family farm.  The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dan’s devoted caregivers, William Stewart and Maria Bonilla for their compassionate dedication.
