Cindy J. Johnson

Mrs. Cindy J. Johnson, 67, of Fuquay-Varina went to her Heavenly home Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh surrounded by her family. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Gerald Johnson and Iris Blanchard Johnson. Cindy grew up in the Christian Light community and moved to Lillington at an early age. She graduated from Lillington High School in 1975.

Cindy was a strong advocate for agriculture in Harnett County. She worked on the family farm side by side with her husband, Buster. Cindy served on the Harnett Co. Farm Bureau Board, Harnett Co. Agricultural Advisory Board, and the Farm Service Agency Board. She also received the Harnett Co. Female Agriculturalist Award in 2020. Cindy and Buster received the Harnett Co. Farm Family of the Year Award in 2006. She was one of the founding members of the Northwest Harnett Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary in 1991. Cindy loved working in her flowers and being outdoors. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren at Holden Beach.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Buster Johnson; mother, Iris B. Johnson; daughter, Lynn J. Lambert and husband Colby; son, Graham Johnson and wife Ainsley; 4 grandchildren, Matthew and Mattie Lambert, Avery and Case Johnson; sister, Kelly Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Baptist Grove Baptist Church, 6140 Christian Light Rd., Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526 and other times at the home. A funeral service will held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Baptist Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Champion and Rev. Paul Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery.
