Charles Glen Locklear, 80, of Willow Spring, NC passed away Sunday January 2, 2022, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield, NC.
He was born November 6, 1941, in Robeson County, NC to the late Reola Locklear and Russell Locklear. Charles was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Jean Locklear; his son, John Glen Locklear; his grandson, Scotty Locklear; and his brother, Russell Locklear, Jr.
Charles loved racing and especially enjoyed watching NASCAR. He enjoyed listening to music and sharing stories with others. Charles was a devoted and faithful member of Black Creek Worship Center in Angier. Most of all, he cherished the memories shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Locklear; 5 grandchildren, Chris, Tiffany, Marcus, Jaylen and Chassidy; 5 great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Elizabeth, Maricella, Dominic, and Eli; his brothers, Jesse A. Locklear, Marlie Locklear, Jerry Locklear, and Larry Locklear; his sisters, Ola Lee Bonnette, Diana Locklear, Angela Scott, Rose Mary Locklear, and Teresa Jacobs; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12-2PM on Thursday January 6 at O’Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main Street in Lillington. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Paul Holder officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery in Lillington.
Memorial contributions may be made in Charles’ memory to his church, Black Creek Worship Center at 17359 Hwy 210, Angier, NC 27501.
