Caviness Ray "Cat" Stewart

Mr. Caviness Ray “Cat” Stewart, 91, of Lillington passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Dunlap, Tennessee. Cat was born in Lillington, NC, the son of the late Duncan Archie and Sarah McPhail Stewart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Joyce Holder Stewart and several brothers and sisters. Cat was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. He retired many years ago as a Harnett County, NC Deputy.

Cat is survived by his daughter, Lee E. Young and son-in-law, Scott Young of Dunlap, Tennessee, grandson, Grant Young of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, stepson, Ricky Morrison and his daughter, Renee Rhody of Lillington, North Carolina, brother James Garner “Jimmy” Stewart and his wife, Wyatt of Lexington, North Carolina and many nieces, nephews and their spouses who cared for him for many years.

A graveside service will be held September 30, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Spring Hill United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at 10:30 AM prior to the service. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
