Mrs. Carolyn McDonald Doss, 91, of Lillington passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at her home with Tiger and Marco by her side. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Luther Dale Forbes and Ora Celester Giles Forbes. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husbands, Norman Thomas McDonald and Robert Edward Doss and son, Lynwood McDonald. She lived in Lillington and Buies Creek her entire life. Carolyn worked as a hairdresser for over 40 years and director for Mary Kay cosmetics for several years. She was an avid gardener and housewife. Carolyn was a life-long member of Lillington Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and summer vacations at the beach.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Norma Carol Murphy of Godwin, son, Norman “Tom” Thomas McDonald, Jr. and partner William Garcia of Chicago, IL; 4 grandchildren, Paul Broglin, Sonia Broglin, Leah Fussell and Noah McDonald; 4 great-grandchildren, Ryan Broglin, Ayden and Camryn Fussell, Brodie McDonald.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel in Lillington with Rev. Daniel Selman officiating. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after the graveside service. A guest book will be available at the funeral home for the public to sign on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the service time.
