Candy Pace Cook Mainor

Candy Pace Cook Mainor, 57, of Bear Creek, NC passed away April 21, 2026 at Duke University Hospital.  She was born April 6, 1969 in Lee County to Harold and Betty Pace. She was preceeded in death by loving brother Brian Pace. In addition to her parents, she is survived by brothers Oscar Pace Jr. and Kenny Pace; her loving husband, Jake Mainor; daughter, Sarah Steinmetz; son, Wesley Cook; grandchildren, Mykala Cook, Britton and Sutton Steinmetz.

Candy loved her family, especially Sonshine, Say-Say and the granddaughters!  She was homebody who loved gardening, her chickens, cooking, and her 2 canine babies, Ruby and Dottie.  Much to her husband’s delight, her happy place was her kitchen (as can be witnessed by his belly).  She will be greatly missed by the countless people she knew and loved!!

A celebration of life gathering will be held Friday, April 24, 2026 from 4pm-7pm at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main Street, Lillington, NC 27546.
