Bobby Clarence Suggs

Bobby Clarence Suggs, 86, of Lillington passed away peacefully at his home May 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born April 15, 1939, in Harnett County to the late Clarence and Alice Suggs. In addition to his parents Bobby was preceded in death by his brother Johnny Suggs and brother-in-law Toby West.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 67 years Gladys Suggs, daughter Cathy Patterson (David), granddaughter Christie Blalock (Jimmy), grandsons Timothy Patterson and Josh Patterson (Jennifer), great-grandchildren Braxton, Drew and Brinley, sister Edna West, and several nieces and nephews.

Bobby graduated in the class of 1957 from Angier High School. He started his career with Blue Bell in Lillington and finished with Country Fair Mobile Homes as a Setup Supervisor of Sanford, NC.

He was a quiet man who never spoke unkind words about others. His devotion to his family and friends was everything to him. His longtime friendship with EJ and Dottie Womack was something he greatly treasured. In his spare time, he spent his younger years endurance horse racing with his many friends. Bobby enjoyed the simple things in life like tending to his cows, playing Rook with friends on Sundays, working in his garden and sharing his vegetables with everyone. He was a lover of all animals, especially his dachshund, Rowdy.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 30, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 4:00 PM with Rev. Scott Yow officiating.
