Bertie Lee Butler

Mr. Bertie Lee Butler, 84, of Sanford passed away February 7, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Harnett County to the late Walker and Ida Mason Butler. In addition to his parents Bertie was preceded in death by his wife Ann Morris Butler, son Michael Butler, several siblings.

He is survived by son Johnny Butler and wife Faith, daughter Joy Kelly, son Joel Butler and wife Donna, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and sister Ruth Whitaker.

Bertie was a successful welder in his own shop and later went to teach welding at the Central Carolina Community College and autobody at Western Harnett High School. In 1993, he started Southern Mini Storage. He was a lifelong farmer who loved his cattle.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 4:00 P.M. at Spring Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Bobby Rackley officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
