Barbara Jean Jelinek

Barbara Jean Jelinek, 63, of Lillington, passed away, Friday, November 15, 2024, at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill.

Barbara was born July 3, 1961, in David City, NE to the late Bernard Charles Jelinek and Clara Lanier Jelinek. Barbara’s joyful attitude and outgoing nature made her a wonderful person to be around. She worked for the State Treasurer. Barbara made life long friendships with co-workers and others with whom she shared her outgoing spirit.

She was preceded in death by her father and sister-in-law Nonie Jelinek.

Barbara is survived by her mother Clara Lanier Jelinek; brother Bernie Jelinek; nephew R.B. Eubanks (Christy); Great nieces Samantha and Sydney; Uncles James (Bernadette), Lumir, and Thomas (Joyce); cousin Laura James (Royce); many extended family members in Nebraska, Washington, and North Carolina and the CT Thomas family.

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 1, 2024 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 1310 South Main St., Lillington, NC 27546 with Shirley Bain officiating.
