Barbara Janice (Strunk) Armstrong

Barbara Strunk Armstrong, 72, of Lillington, formerly of Charlotte, NC, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 28, 2024, surrounded by family, at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC. 

Barbara was born October 29, 1951 in Passaic County, NJ to the late Harold and Beatrice Strunk.  She was a graduate of Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, NJ and became a certified registered nurse.  Barbara formed a medical case management firm, Armstrong and Associates, for worker’s compensation, retiring with over 40 years of nursing service.  Following a medical event in 2019, she moved near family, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, and enjoyed making precious memories with her grandchildren.       

Barbara is survived by her husband of 42 years, Troy Armstrong; devoted son, Jeff Armstrong and wife, Beth; loving grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth and Jack Jeffrey; sisters, Jeanann Strunk, and Patricia Strunk Rosinski. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held 3pm Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, 4440 Piney Grove Rd, Angier, NC 27501 with Rev. Brad Lee and Rev. Timmy Blair officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.  

Flowers are welcome, or memorials may be made to Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church.
