Mrs. Antoinette Messina Pine, 79, of Angier passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. She was born in Monmouth County, NJ the daughter of the late Charles and Rose Messina. She was the first female division chief at Ft. Monmouth, NJ. Antoinette’s primary function as Chief Logistician for the Department of the Army at Ft. Bragg was the issuance of night vision equipment as early as Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Ann was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by a son, Ed Seal and 3 brothers, Nunzio Messina, Michael Messina and Charles Messina, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Wayne “Bill” Pine of the home; 2 daughters, Lisa Ann Van Aulen of Fayetteville and Nancy Holub of Oregon; 2 sons, Corey Pine of Florida and David Pine of Fayetteville; 5 grandchildren, Meghan, Andrew, Kyle, Jonathan, Anthony; brother, Carmen Messina of Florida and sister, Rosemary Ackerman of Angier; many nieces and nephews.
A mass will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dunn. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Lillington. The family will receive friends at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM.
