Ann Lanier Carroll, age 93, went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2024. Ann was the daughter of the late James Jefferson and Gladys Senter Lanier, and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Richardson Carroll, Jr., and infant sister, Doris S. Lanier. Ann was born in Kipling, NC. She married a handsome Highway Patrolman, and they made their home in Lillington. She was an active member of Lillington United Methodist Church, and later Lillington Baptist Church. She loved being a part of the Sarah Womble Sunday School Class. Ann worked as an office administrator and retired with over 30 years of service for Optometrist, Dr. Kenneth Talley in Lillington.
Ann is survived by her loving children, Jeffery Lynn Carroll and wife, Michal of Lillington; Kathy Carroll Gower and husband Al of Dunn; sister Gail McDonald and husband, Bobby of Dunn; Five grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as “Annie”: Matthew Carroll (Jamie), Hope Tyndall (Brandon), David Carroll (Tiffany), Morgan Weber (Chip), and Georganna Gaines (Calvin). Ann was also blessed to have known twelve great-grandchildren: Bobby Garcia, Jimi Garcia, Gavin Tyndall, Asher Tyndall, Reese Carroll, Pierce Carroll, Gavin Perez, Ruthie Carroll, Knox Weber, Patch Carroll, Cade Weber, and Phillip Gaines.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, April 15, 204 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 11:00am at Lillington Baptist Church with Officiating by Preacher Daniel Selman. Ann will be laid to rest next to her beloved, George, at Harnett Memorial Park in a private ceremony at a later time.
