Mrs. Ann Morris Butler, 80, of Sanford, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2021.
Ann was a retired schoolteacher from the Lee County Schools having taught Head Start for 24 years. She was a member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church.
Ann was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was gentle and kind-hearted.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at 2 pm at Spring Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Dr. Jerome Smith presiding.
Ann was preceded in death by her son, Michael Butler, and her parents, Edwin and Retha Morris.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bertie Butler; two sons, Johnny Butler and wife, Faith, and Joel Butler and wife, Donna, and one daughter, Joy Kelly, all of Sanford; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Butler, Kelli Worrell, Sara Butler, Ryan Butler, Amber Eckel, Logan Kelly, Brandon Butler, and Makayla Lunsford; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to visit O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home on Friday, January 15, 2021, between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm to pay their respects to Mrs. Butler. The family will not be present during this time.
In accordance with current North Carolina COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home requests that everyone in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
