Amy Susan Johnson

Amy Susan Johnson, 58, of MD, passed on her birthday, Saturday, October 29, 2022 in Sanford, NC.   

Amy was born in Stroudsburg, PA to the late Robert and Hilda Owens (Robling). Amy leaves behind her husband Len Johnson; her daughter Emily Johnson, her son in law Daniel Whittington; her son Drew Johnson; and her dachshunds Poppy, Peach, and Paisley.

Being a mother was her greatest joy. She left her job as a secretary at Walker’s Pest Control upon the arrival of her first child. Amy spent the following years devoting much of her time to volunteer work at the school her children attended. She was the biggest animal lover and especially loved her many dachshunds. Those who had the pleasure of getting to know Amy, knew her as free spirited, kind hearted, and most importantly humorous. Amy was a gem, who never lost her child like whimsy and care free approach to life. 

Besides her immediate family, Amy is survived by her brothers Robert Owens and Gary Owens; her sister Rebecca Goldhammer; several nieces and nephews; and many life long friends.

Friends and family will be invited to say goodbye at a memorial service in the spring. Date and time will be announced in the coming months.
