Mr. William "W.A." Alexander Rogers, 84, of Lillington passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late James Dalton and Bessie Mae Strickland Rogers. In addition to his parents, W.A. was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy and Fred Rogers; sister, Lenora Holder.

He served in the U.S. Army and retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserves. W.A. worked with the N.C. Department of Corrections in Lillington and retired after 28 years of service. He loved spending time with his family, especially grandchildren and his animals. W.A. will be remembered by his family as a supportive father and a loving grandfather.

W.A. is survived by his sons, Ricky Rogers and wife Kimberly of Lillington, Randy Rogers and wife Mary of Lillington; 5 grandchildren, Megan Rogers, Ashley Rogers (Black), William Rogers (Black), Hannah Rogers and Jacob Rogers; great-grandson, Asher Price; mother of his sons, Joan Rogers; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, September 23, 2022 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ricky Rogers. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lillington with Rev Robbie O'Quinn officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Family Cemetery with military honors.
