Mr. William "Billy" Allen Salmon, 69, of Broadway passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016. Billy was born in Erwin, the son of the late Allen Franklin and Inez Woodell Salmon. Billy was also preceded in death by his brothers, Woody Salmon and Jimmy Salmon and brother-in-law, Keith Thomas. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. Billy worked in the steel industry as an industrial foreman for many years. He also enjoyed working tobacco with his brother, "Curt", Stephen and other family members. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, bowling and watching all sports. Billy also was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching game shows, soap operas and Lifetime movies with his Dee.
Billy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Deloris Brown Salmon of the home, daughters, Dana Salmon of Broadway, son, Jeffrey Salmon of Broadway, daughter, Amy Rollins and fiancé, Chris Dearborn of Sanford, daughter, Allison Kulhanek and husband, Scott of Cameron, daughter, Crystal Yow and husband, Scott of Cameron, daughter, Lisa Bell and husband, Joe of Broadway, 13 grandchildren, Jordan Salmon and wife, Melissa, Caroline Ayers and Daddy, Jimmy Maddox, Allen Salmon and wife, Kristen, Lauren Williams and husband, Bryant, Taylor Holbrook and husband, Matthew, Connor Rollins, Alyssa Crandall and husband, Michael, Carson Kulhanek, Meredith Yow, Landon Yow, Brittny Schack and husband, Brett, Brooke Bell and boyfriend, Chris Micros and Autumn Bell; 3 great-grandchildren, Danica Peckerar, Lily Grace Salmon and Ella Brynn Schack; brother, Jerry Salmon and wife, Ginger of Lillington, sister-in-law, Linda Salmon of Lillington, sister, Donna Patterson and husband, Donnie Ray of Lillington, sister, Phyllis McNary and husband, Lee of Sanford, brother, Curtis Salmon and wife, Teresa of Lillington, sister, Sharon Thomas of Lillington; brother-in-law, James Brown and wife, Susan of Broadway; many nieces and nephews; grand dogs, Pilot, Coop, Sophie, Gracie, Ginger, Abby, Zoey, Roxy and the late Pebbles and Snuggles.
The family will receive friends at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Multi-Purpose Building Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Broadway with Rev. Scott Yow officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Mamers
