Obituary

William John Paschal, 97, of Lillington, NC passed away Monday February 28, 2022, at Oak Hill Assisted Living in Angier.

He was born January 10, 1925, in Goldston, NC to the late Sophia Killen Paschal and John Gilbert Paschal. William was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Sylvia McCauley Paschal; his three sisters, Janie P. Thaxton, Martha P. Layland, and Catherine P. Stroupe; and his brother, Frank J. Paschal.

William served his country honorably during World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1950, William relocated to Lillington with his brother, Frank to operate Paschal Lumber Company. He would go on to serve as Post Forester for Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base. William enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and family trips to the beach. He loved to share his prized tomatoes with those in the community. William was a dedicated member of Lillington Baptist Church and a member of the Lamar Simmons Sunday School Class. He also volunteered his time as a Scoutmaster for Troop 710. Most of all, he cherished the memories shared with his family. Genealogy was a passion of William's and he spent numerous years researching family history.
