Mr. William "Bill" Hudson Green, age 78, of Lillington died Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the Hospice of Wake County Hospice Home in Raleigh. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late Daniel Hugh and Mable Hudson Green. Bill was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was owner of Green's Auto Service for 48 years. His special place was Cape Lookout where over the years he met many friends and cherished each one. He enjoyed fishing but most of all he enjoying cooking (especially fried corn bread patties) for his fishing buddies. If you happened to be a special friend, you received a bag of Bugles. Bill enjoyed gardening, sharing among friends and family and a good sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Christ and brother, John "Pete" Green.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday,September 2, 2011 at Pleasant Union Christian Church, Lillington with Rev. Cary Snelling, Rev. Ron Christ and David Gardner. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends at O'Quinn-Peebles Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Bill is survived by wife of 54 years, Jean Benson Green of the home, daughter, Cathryn Green of Lillington, daughter, Karen Green Mills and husband Joe of Raleigh, daughter, Carolyn Green Stephenson and husband Tim of Fuquay-Varina, son, William "Billy" H. Green, Jr. of Cary, four grandchildren, Timothy Matthews, Brandon Matthews, Derrick Green and Jessica Green, sister, Anne Mason and husband Bill of Wilmington, sister, Margaret Green of Wilmington, brother, Daniel "Danny" H. Green, Jr. and wife Doris of Lillington.
