Mr. Wilbon Johnson "W.J." Byrd, Jr., 53, of Lillington passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at his home. He was born in Reidsville, NC, the son of the late Wilbon Johnson Byrd, Sr. and Earnestine Johnson Wallace. In addition to his father, W.J. was preceded in death by brothers, Tony Johnson Byrd and Kenneth Dale Byrd.

W.J. is survived by his mother, Earnestine Wallace of Lillington; daughter, Gracie Byrd of Lillington; sister, Varonda Strouth and husband Bryant of Lillington; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church in Lillington with Rev. Robbie O'Quinn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
