Warren West, 94 of Sanford died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Central Carolina Community Hospital.

Warren was born October 1, 1920 in Harnett Co. to the late David Colon and Dovie Carolina West. Warren was preceded in death by a brother, Aster West; 5 sisters, Clara Gregory and Sarahbelle Clark and Ardelle and Viola West and Ida Mae West.

Warren retired with 22 years in the Air Force. After his time in the Air Force he worked with Roberts Company and sold insurance with Charlotte Mutual. After marrying his wife Bessie West he devoted his time to family, cooking and taking care of grand kids.

Warren is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bessie Holder West; a step-son, Willie Gregory and wife Joyce of Erwin; 5 step-daughters, Bonnie Calcutt and husband Jimmy of Sanford, Brenda Brady of Mamers, Nancy Fields and husband Robert of Carthage, Connie Honeycutt and husband Allen of Vass, and Teresa Baker and husband Billy of Sanford; a sister, Geraline Salmon of Bunnlevel; 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

A funeral service will he held 3:30 P.M. Sunday, December 7, 2014 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Layton Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 P.M. Sunday at the Funeral Home.
